3CX V18 Desktop App not installing on Windows 11?

Want to fix an issue where the 3CX Desktop App won’t install on a Windows 11?

If you attempt to install the V18 3CX Desktop App on Windows 11 and it just closes without completing. We have a solution.

Why won’t 3CX Desktop App install on Windows 11?

We’ve found that the latest V18 3CX Desktop App has an issue installing on Windows 11 and it doesn’t give much away in terms of errors to offer solutions. We’ve seen this across multiple Windows 11 devices, although it worked when Windows 10 was upgraded to Windows 11.

It seems to be related to a local or group policy setting which always installs application with elevated privileges. For some reason, this stops the V18 3CX Desktop App from completing its installation and won’t then show in add/remove programs.
